International rugby is back with the Northern Hemisphere leg of the Nations Championship starting this weekend.

The November internationals kick off in Dublin on Friday evening with Andy Farrell’s Ireland hosting Argentina at the Aviva Stadium with Los Pumas looking to end an 11-year losing streak against the Irish.

Saturday’s opener sees Italy and South Africa lock horns at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, the home of Italian football juggernaut Juventus, before Scotland host the All Blacks at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

Eddie Jones’ Japan then face off against Wales at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, with the day’s action concluding in Lyon, where France host Fiji. The final match of the weekend sees England host Australia at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on Sunday.

How things stand

The Nations Championship sees the 12 biggest teams in international rugby collide every two years with the north facing the south across six rounds with the action culminating in a blockbuster Finals Weekend at the home of English Rugby, Twickenham.

The Springboks and All Blacks are the only two unbeaten teams heading into round four after Rassie Erasmus’ men defeated England, Scotland and Wales in July while Dave Rennie’s charges beat France, Italy and Ireland.

Both teams claimed the maximum five points from their respective victories with South Africa leading the way on the Southern Hemisphere table courtesy of a superior points difference. Australia are in third after winning just once in July and are closely followed by Argentina who are just one point adrift. Japan claimed one win earlier this year whilst Fiji remain winless.

Meanwhile, France lead the way on the Northern Hemisphere table after two wins in July and hold a one-point advantage of Scotland in second place. England and Ireland are level on points, the former sitting third thanks to their points difference while Wales and Italy hold up the table.
