Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola has suggested that both Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz could feature against Arsenal, as the pair face a late fitness test to be involved on Sunday.
The pair have been missing for the past few games, with both of the stars suffering issues against Brentford earlier in the month, which has ruled them out of action.
It has come as a slight blow to Iraola, who has had to rotate his options during a busy fixture period, but with a difficult clash with Arsenal just around the corner, there is some slight hope that both Szoboszlai and Munoz could feature in some capacity against the Gunners.
Speaking to the press ahead of the match, the Liverpool boss said on their fitness: "I think they [Szoboszlai and Munoz] have a chance, they have a chance but I don't know for sure if they will be involved or not but we still have two days so I think we have a chance."
A return for the pair would come as quite the boost, with both players showing some quality so far this season when called upon for the big moments.
Munoz, who joined from Osasuna in the summer, has already had some crucial moments for the Reds since moving to Merseyside. Not only has the winger injected some pace into the frontline, but he has appeared with crucial goals against Nottingham Forest and Brentford.
Fortunately for the 23-year-old, he won't need to be rushed back into action if he isn't ready, with the form of Bradley Barcola and Rio Ngumoha out wide helping to ease the pressure of a return.
As for Szoboszlai, he has shown glimpses of his quality when available with three goals across eight appearances this season, though the midfield is also looking relatively balanced with a trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Florian Wirtz at present.
The Hungarian international can come up with special moments for such an occasion as taking on Arsenal, however, having scored an incredible long-range free-kick against the Gunners at the start of last season.
While the pairing of Munoz and Szoboszlai are still labelled as doubts for the match, there will definitely be no involvement for Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, and Hugo Ekitike, who won't be available until after the November international break at the earlier.
Arsenal is also facing some late decisions on injuries, as a fitness test will be given to Riccardo Calafiori, Declan Rice and Christos Tzolis for the blockbuster encounter, while there is uncertainty over the fitness of Noni Madueke.
The Gunners will definitely be without William Saliba and Bukayo Saka due to injury, while youngster Max Dowman is also unavailable as he serves a three-match suspension for a sending off in midweek.
It remains to be seen just how close to a full strength team each side can put out on Sunday, in a match that could define the Premier League title race.
