SCHOOL SPORT - York High School emerged victorious in the Emerging League Challenge squash tournament, held at the George Squash Club on 16 and 17 October.

The tournament aimed to give high school players valuable match experience under competitive conditions while promoting the development of squash.

Five-player teams of Outeniqua and York high schools in George, Point High School in Mossel Bay and Oakdale Agricultural High School in Riversdale competed in the event.

The matches were closely contested, with York and Outeniqua battling it out in a nail-biting final. 

York eventually claimed the title, with Outeniqua finishing as the runners-up.

Hoërskool Outeniqua's runners-up: Coach Nicola Zandberg, Hugo Stols, Jan-Willem van der Westhuizen, Dihan Botha, Marten Haagedoorn and Reuben de la Rouviere.
