Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has described Bruno Fernandes’ comments about Michael Carrick as a disgrace after Manchester United’s 4-1 Champions League defeat by Como.
Fernandes said after the match that Carrick had instructed the Manchester United players to press less, which the Portugal international believed had contributed to the result.
Carragher also argued that Fernandes had become a better player because of Carrick, criticising the midfielder’s decision to speak publicly about the manager’s tactics.
Fernandes started the match but was substituted in the 67th minute, with Joshua Zirkzee taking his place. Zirkzee scored Manchester United’s only goal in added time.
