Our under-19s head to Czechia to face Slavia Prague in the UEFA Youth League, eyeing a second win of the competition after taking four points from our opening three matches.

We built on our opening-day win over Napoli with a dramatic 3-3 draw against Bayern Munich last month as we head to face the in-form Czech outfit.

Our Gunners sit 18th in the league phase coming into Wednesday's game, 16 places behind opponents Prague, and with the top 22 sides qualifying for the knockout stages, we could take a big step towards the Round of 32 with another away win.

PRAGUE PURRING

In last year's UEFA Youth League, Slavia finished 20th, enough to qualify for the knockout stages where they faced Benfica in Lisbon.

Mubarak Suleiman's two goals put Prague ahead against the Portuguese outfit, but two strikes in the final 30 minutes turned it around for Benfica and ended Prague's journey.

This year, however, Slavia are storming ahead. The Czech team have won their opening three Youth League matches, putting them second in the table, only behind Real Madrid on goal difference.

A 2-1 victory over French side Lens was followed up with a comfortable 3-0 win over Azerbaijan side Sabah. On the last matchday, Prague came from a goal down to beat Fenerbahce 3-1 to make it three wins from three. That result means they have already surpassed their league phase tally from last season and are almost certain to make it to the knockout stages once again.

PREVIOUS MEETING

The two sides met in the 2025/26 league phase of the competition in Prague, and it was the hosts who came away with the three points.

An own goal, plus efforts from Bartosz Szywala and Jakub Kolisek gave Prague a 3-0 half-time lead.

Ceadach O'Neill reduced the deficit in the second half before two goals in stoppage time from Mubarak Suleiman and Matej Kotrba gave Prague an emphatic victory on home turf.
