Former NFL player Breiden Fehoko has released an extraordinary statement after his comments about the Kansas City Chiefs caused a stir on social media.

Fehoko, who played for the Los Angeles Chargers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, has been incredibly outspoken since retiring from the sport in 2025.

Last year, he accused officials of rigging games in certain ways. Speaking last week, he claimed that the NFL threatened to pull his pension as a result of his comments.

Fehoko continues to believe that the sport is rigged and is not afraid to share that opinion. On Monday, during his appearance on Fearless with Jason Whitlock, he suggested that the Chiefs would receive 'ghost penalties' in their favour in the fourth quarter of matches.

He has now taken to X (formerly Twitter) to explain his comments in a stunning statement.

Fehoko has doubled down on his comments, now claiming that Arrowhead Stadium, which underwent a $375 million renovation in 2010 and is the home of the Chiefs, is the most rugged venue in professional sports. He wrote:

"Playing at Arrowhead Stadium is the most rigged venue in professional sports since Tom Brady left Foxborough. It has become a joke. And I believe players who have competed against the Kansas City Chiefs know exactly what I’m talking about.

"Throughout my NFL career, we would have meetings with officials, and coaches would remind us to prepare for the possibility of a call in this game that could shift the momentum in Kansas City’s favor. This wasn’t something we simply ignored. It was something we discussed and prepared for.

"I believe the NFL has a history of giving favorable treatment to teams and players who represent its biggest markets and most valuable storylines. Whether that comes through questionable penalties, controversial rulings or momentum-changing positions, the perceptions of preferential treatment is a serious problem for the integrity of the game."

Fehoko added: "And if you think this conversation started with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, go back and watch Myles Jack against the New England Patriots in the 2017 AFC Championship Game.

"Myles Jack should never have been ruled down. But when Tom Brady was the face of the NFL, controversial decisions like that only fueled the belief that the league's biggest stars received the benefit of the doubt."

Kansas City Chiefs have won three Super Bowl titles in the last seven years, triumphing in 2019 (LIV), 2022 (LVII) and 2023 (LVIII).

Andy Reid's side currently sit top of the AFC West after winning all five of their matches to start the 2026 season. They are next in action on Sunday Evening when they travel to Lumen Field to take on reigning Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks.
