Dortmund, Leipzig Eye Bundesliga Response After Mixed Results

Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Bundesliga when they face Eintracht Frankfurt and Elversberg respectively this weekend.

Dortmund remain unbeaten in the league this season, having won four and drawn two of their opening six matches.

However, they have drawn their last two league games and will be eager to get back to winning ways before next week’s meeting with leaders Bayern Munich.

Niko Kovac’s side boosted their confidence with a victory over Sabah Baku in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Their defence has been a major strength, with only four goals conceded and four clean sheets recorded in the league.

Dortmund have also scored at least twice in each of their four home league matches this season.

Frankfurt, meanwhile, responded to a heavy 6-0 defeat to Leipzig with a 1-0 victory over Cologne last Friday.

However, they remain in the bottom half of the table after conceding 16 goals in the league.

Their away matches have produced 16 goals in total, with Frankfurt conceding 10.

They will need to improve defensively to stand a chance against Dortmund.

The hosts have also dominated this fixture in recent years, winning 14 of their last 15 home Bundesliga meetings with Frankfurt.

Meanwjile, RB Leipzig will look to recover from a difficult week when they host Bundesliga newcomers Elversberg.

Leipzig suffered a 6-1 defeat to Bayern Munich before losing 4-1 to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

The results exposed defensive weaknesses and highlighted the team’s struggle to maintain consistent performances against strong opposition.

However, Leipzig have been difficult to beat at home, winning their last eight Bundesliga matches on their own ground.

They have also never lost a Bundesliga match against a newly promoted side, recording 35 wins and five draws in 40 meetings.
