Barcelona have told Pedro Porro what he needs to do if he wants to swap the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Camp Nou.
The speculation linking Porro with a move to Barca has intensified substantially over the last few months, and there is usually not this much smoke without fire.
It now appears that the player may indeed be tempted to move to La Liga, with the Tottenham defender refusing to rule out a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona in a recent interview with the Spanish media.
The full-back admitted that he dreams of returning to Spain one day, and this comes amidst claims that Barca have already reached out to the defender over a potential transfer in January or next summer.
Sport have now revealed that the La Liga giants first made contact over a deal for Porro in the summer, but the deal at the time was contingent on selling Alejandro Balde and Jules Koundé, both of whom ended up staying.
The Tottenham star continues to be a target for Barca, as he is admired by Hansi Flick as well as sporting director, Deco, and the club have been in constant contact with the Spain internaitonal.
Barca have informed Porro that a transfer to Camp Nou would only be possible if he managed to get Tottenham to make their terms more favourable.
At the moment, the North London club are demanding around €70m (£61m) for the right-back, which the Blaugrana consider ‘completely unreasonable’.
They have ‘ruled out’ paying such a fee and are also aware that Spurs have historically been tough negotiators.
As a result, the club have told the full-back he has to be directly involved in the transfer negotiations to ensure Tottenham’s demands are more ‘realistic’
Sport backs up what other reports have said over recent weeks by claiming that the Spurs man is ‘very keen’ to wear the Barca jersey.
Porro wants to return to his home country and his representatives believe that his time in London is coming to an end.
However, Flick’s men are also exploring alternative options, including Ivan Fresneda, who they see as an interesting profile and a ‘more affordable option’ than the 27-year-old.
If Tottenham do not reduce their asking price, the Catalan club would shift their attention to the Sporting Lisbon right-back.
