A journalist has raised doubts over whether Antonio Conte would be able to establish himself at Manchester United if he replaced Michael Carrick as head coach.

Discussion in England has intensified around the possibility of Conte taking charge of the club. The former Tottenham manager is currently without a job and has been regarded as one of the leading candidates to succeed Carrick for several weeks.

Carrick is reportedly at risk of dismissal after Manchester United’s 4-1 defeat by Como in the Champions League. The result has increased scrutiny on his position as the club considers whether a change in the dugout is needed.

Manchester United are 13th in the Premier League after seven rounds.
