Nigeria internationals Wilfred Ndidi and Tolu Arokodare will be involved in European club competition on Thursday, with Beşiktaş and Ajax continuing their UEFA campaigns.
Ndidi’s Beşiktaş are due to face Crystal Palace in the Europa League, while Arokodare’s Ajax take on Atalanta in the Conference League.
Ndidi will aim to help Beşiktaş claim a valuable home result against the Premier League opposition and improve their standing in the tournament.
The Nigerian midfielder’s European experience may be a key factor, with Palace also attempting to establish themselves on the continental stage.
Arokodare is expected to be a central figure for Ajax against Atalanta, with the Nigerian forward likely to spearhead the Dutch club’s attack at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
The 25-year-old has begun life strongly in Amsterdam, producing seven goals along with two assists in 12 outings in all competitions.
His attacking output could again matter as Ajax look to carry forward the momentum from their 5–2 victory over Groningen, following the opening Conference League setback against Hajduk Split.
Ndidi and Arokodare will both seek decisive performances as Beşiktaş and Ajax target positive results in their separate European ties.
