Antonela Roccuzzo was born on February 26, 1988, in Rosario, Argentina, the same city where Messi grew up.

She studied at the National University of Rosario, initially pursuing dentistry before going on to study social communication. She later moved to Barcelona as her relationship with Messi developed.

Messi and Roccuzzo first met as children in Rosario through her cousin, Lucas Scaglia, who played football with the future Argentina captain.

The pair grew up in the same city, but their paths diverged when Messi moved to Spain at the age of 13 to join Barcelona’s youth academy.

The pair reportedly grew closer again in 2005, when Messi returned to Argentina to support Roccuzzo following the death of a close friend.

Their relationship remained largely private during its early years.

After years together, Messi and Roccuzzo married on June 30, 2017, in their hometown of Rosario.

The wedding was attended by family, friends and several high-profile footballers, including some of Messi’s former Barcelona team-mates.

The ceremony marked a new chapter for the couple, whose relationship had begun long before Messi became a global sporting icon.

Messi and Roccuzzo have three sons together: Thiago, Mateo and Ciro.

Their eldest son, Thiago, was born in November 2012, followed by Mateo in September 2015 and Ciro in March 2018.

The couple regularly share family photographs on social media, and Roccuzzo has often been seen supporting Messi at major football matches alongside their children.
