Burkina Faso’s first Coupe du Faso multisport event will bring together 11 sporting disciplines, with more than 100 million FCFA set to be shared among the federations involved.
The details were announced on Friday, 23 October 2026, by Valerie Badolo/Tapsoba, director general of Sports and Leisure, during a news conference.
Athletics, sport for people with disabilities, volleyball, handball, rugby, wrestling, boxing, petanque, karate-do, taekwondo and cycling will all feature in the competition.
The event is intended to unite several federations under one national sporting programme, bringing together a broad range of disciplines from across Burkina Faso’s sporting landscape.
More than 100 million FCFA will be distributed between the 11 participating federations. The funding forms a key part of the organisation of the inaugural multisport competition.
