Did you know there are live stingrays in the outfield of Tropicana Field?

While the Brewers and Rays meet for Game 3 of the World Series, fans at the ballpark can find another attraction in the outfield: a tank filled with stingrays.

Stingrays have been at Tropicana Field for years, and Stephanie Sutton of Hearst sisters station WISN got up close and personal with them before the game.

The stingrays swim around during games, though fans may also see them resting on the bottom, said Christy Barrett, a curator at the Florida Aquarium.

Many longtime visitors stop by to see the animals and have favorite stingrays, Barrett said. While they don't have official names, some fans have their own names for them.

"But I think a lot of people are surprised to see it here," Barrett said.

Home run balls have landed in the tank in the past, Barrett said. A net now protects it, and a ball had bounced off the net shortly before the interview.
