Yan Diomande sets the pace in Europe’s one-on-one rankings

Ivorian youngster Yan Diomande has emerged as the most effective dribbler in Europe’s five major leagues this season, completing 70% of his attempts, according to data published by PopFoot.

The attacking player has drawn attention with his ability to beat opponents and create openings with the ball at his feet. His success rate places him at the top of the rankings for dribbling efficiency, ahead of several of the biggest names in world football.

Franco-Ivorian Desire Doue is second on 67%, while Egypt international Omar Marmoush completes the top three with a 66% success rate. The figures underline Diomande’s technical quality and his effectiveness when taking on defenders in individual duels.

The numbers also place the young Ivorian above a series of established stars. Kylian Mbappe has completed 58% of his dribbles, with Georgia international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia next on 57%.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham has a success rate of 55%, while Senegal international Assane Diao sits on 54%. Spain forward Lamine Yamal, widely recognised for his ability to drive at defenders, is listed on 49%.

Diomande’s leading position is particularly significant because of the value of one-on-one situations in the modern game. A successful dribble can eliminate a defender, open space and disrupt the structure of an opposing defence.

With a 70% success rate, Diomande is establishing himself as one of the players to watch on the European stage. His performances have highlighted his potential and increased attention on the Ivorian talent.
