Carabao Cup quarter-final draw confirmed as Liverpool face tricky reunion

The Carabao Cup quarter-final matches have been confirmed following Liverpool's stunning win over Chelsea at Anfield.

Liverpool secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup with a spectacular penalty shootout win over Chelsea rounding out just one of several results on Wednesday night.

Manchester City also picked up a penalty shoot-out win to book a quarter-final spot, with Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Sunderland also winning while Bradford City and Fleetwood Town progressed on Tuesday, and now we know the next fixtures.

Carabao Cup quarter-final fixtures confirmed

After their win over fellow League One side Peterborough United on Tuesday night, Bradford City became the first to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Not long after, Fleetwood Town secured a place as the lowest-ranked side still in the competition after a spectacular penalty shoot-out win Premier League title holders Arsenal at Highbury Stadium.

A missed penalty from summer signing Bruno Guimaraes cost the Premier League winners their spot in the fourth round, allowing Fleetwood to progress as the only League Two side remaining.

Following the spectacular win over Arsenal, Fleetwood have been rewarded with another home clash against either Everton or Newcastle United.

Off the back of their own stunning penalty shoot-out win, Liverpool will host head coach Andoni Iraola's former club, Bournemouth, who have performed well so far this season.

Manchester City will host League One side Bradford, while Crystal Palace face Sunderland in another all Premier League affair.
