Bayern Munich can expect much more of the same from the great Harry Kane after the Englishman penned a new contract that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 30 June 2029.
Signed to much fanfare in August 2023 from Tottenham Hotspur, where he had become the English side's all-time leading marksman, Kane notched an eye-watering 36 league goals for Bayern in his debut season, finishing top of the scoring charts, clinching the European Golden Shoe and earning himself a berth in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.
Since then, he has gone from strength to strength, breaking goalscoring records at every turn and helping the Munich club to claim two successive Bundesliga titles and the DFB Cup, while also scooping another two top scorer cannons and the 2026 Ballon d'Or.
However, beyond his predatory instincts in the penalty area, the Englishman offers leadership on and off the pitch, versatility, and an apparent ability to improve with age, and it was this combination that convinced the Bayern hierarchy to extend his stay in Bavaria.

Upon the announcement of Kane’s new two-year deal, Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl confirmed as much, stating, "Players like Harry Kane offer a team unique opportunities. We’re delighted that he will continue to be a key figure who helps shape the direction of the club, and with whom we can continue to build our squad for the future."
Keeping Kane means goals. Finishing is a fine art, and there are few better strikers of the ball than Kane. Boasting an extensive catalogue of strikes, from powerful finishes to well-placed shots and headers, Bayern's hitman has racked up 102 goals in as many Bundesliga games.
Upon reaching the century mark, he became the fastest player to achieve the feat, surpassing the previous record held by Cologne's Dieter Müller, who needed 129 games.
Never has he had such a prolific campaign as 2025/26, when he returned 61 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions. Striking four Bundesliga hat-tricks and one in the DFB Cup final against VfB Stuttgart as Vincent Kompany's charges completed a domestic double, the England captain has developed a flourishing partnership with Michael Olise and Luis Díaz and, with Ismael Saibari thrown into the mix, his already scintillating numbers will only multiply.

As well as an unrivalled nose for goal, Kane also possesses an ability to create and, in renewing, Bayern have secured a player who improves the games of all those around him. Few strikers drop deep and get involved in the build-up play quite as often as Bayern's No. 9. Opening up space, he combines elite footballing IQ with intelligent movement, making him incredibly difficult to mark which, in turn, creates chances for Olise and Díaz.
"Regarding Harry, what he is as a player is truly impressive," lauded Díaz. "He does everything right - he drops deep, wins the ball back, assists, and scores goals. He is a machine and a true gentleman. As a person, he is very calm and doesn't have that ego that many players with such a career might have."
With 28 Bundesliga assists since his arrival, Kane is far more than a striker who knocks the ball down, or cushions the ball inside the opposition box for a teammate. Often dropping as deep as the centre circle, his vision and passing range are like those of an NFL quarterback, and Bayern use them well.

Furthermore, Kane - who was appointed England captain in 2018 - is also a leader, on and off the pitch. "He makes the difference because, in addition to his leadership qualities, he also scores goals," enthused Eberl. "His words carry weight, even in the locker room, thanks to his voice – even though he doesn't talk much. But when he does speak, he makes sense."
With a can-do attitude and elite professionalism, Kane continues to set a high standard. Speaking after Bayern's 3-0 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup defeat to RB Leipzig in 2023, then head coach and now England manager, Thomas Tuchel said: "He's important in the changing room, on the pitch, because of his character, his professionalism, how hard he trains, and how after the defeat he was first on the pitch for training with the reserves."
Those words were echoed by Joshua Kimmich, who holds his teammate in high esteem: "He’s an absolute leader, a true role model. He has a special mindset for an attacking player."

At 33, there's no denying that Kane is entering the latter years of his career but still at the height of his game, he shows no sign of slowing down. Boasting a skillset that others can only dream of, there are few like Bayern's world-class goal machine who, like a fine wine, is only improving with age.
"It helps when you have a top player who wants to run and fight for the team like a youth player," said Kompany. "I played against him as an opponent and he has become better with age. He has a way to work towards his performances. I trust his consistency and how he works towards his game and with that quality you always get your moments."
Committed to Bayern into at least his mid-30s, there are truly no limits for the Londoner. Already a club legend with some 197 goal involvements across 161 competitive appearances for Bayern, Kane and the record champions are proving a match made in heaven.
