FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with Iker Rodríguez to extend his contract for another three seasons, until 30 June 2029. The agreement includes an option for another two years.
The contract signing took place at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and the player was accompanied by the director responsible for youth football, Jaume Santiveri and the Director of Youth Football, José Ramón Alexanco.
A native of Sabadell in Catalonia, he joined Barça’s youth academy as an U8 from local side Can Rull. From an early age, he showed a great ability to absorb everything taught at La Masia, progressing steadily through the ranks and establishing himself as one of the most exciting goalkeeping prospects developed by the club.
In 2024, at the age of 16, he trained with the first team for the first time under Flick, while still playing as goalkeeper for the U19 B team. Throughout the 2025/26 season, he stood out for the U19 A team and spent much of the summer of 2026 training with the first team during pre-season, before officially joining the Barça Atlètic squad.
Iker Rodríguez has already made his debut for Julian Belletti side this season having taken part in eight matches, conceding just four goals and keeping five clean sheets.
