Como come from behind to beat Torino and move into Serie A’s top four

Como extended their winning run to four matches in all competitions after scoring twice late on to beat Torino 3-1 and move into Serie A’s top four.

Torino had been seeking a fourth successive victory, but Como’s comeback ended their impressive run after a lively contest in which the visitors were eventually rewarded for their pressure.

The opening 45 minutes produced only one goal despite both sides creating a series of chances. Torino took the lead through Che Adams after Kian Fitz-Jim won possession from Jacobo Ramon inside the Como penalty area. Fitz-Jim then delivered a cross which Adams struck into the net from eight yards.

Como responded quickly but could not find an equaliser before the break. Anastasios Douvikas sent a glancing effort past Torino goalkeeper Lucas Perri, only for it to roll wide.

Ramon had an opportunity to make amends for his mistake when he met a cross with a header from six yards, but he directed it straight at Perri. Lucas Da Cunha then fired narrowly wide after Torino failed to clear Rafik Belghali’s poor header.

Como continued to push after half-time and came close when Maxence Caqueret’s effort struck the crossbar.

Torino’s resistance was also helped by Robert Sanchez, who kept Cesc Fabregas’ side in the game with a series of saves. The on-loan Spanish goalkeeper made three important stops, including an instinctive effort to tip Giovanni Simeone’s close-range header on to the crossbar.

But with Ignazio Abate’s Torino side approaching what would have been a fourth consecutive Serie A win, Como finally found a way through.

Nico Paz supplied a dangerous cross towards the far post, where Ramon rose to head home and level the match.

Como completed the turnaround only a few minutes later. Paz became the scorer this time, glancing Yan Couto’s cross into the net to put the visitors ahead and once again take centre stage.

Torino then conceded a third goal in added time when Martin Baturina was presented with an opportunity by a defence whose resistance had faded late in the match.

The result gave Como four consecutive wins in all competitions, while Torino’s three-match winning streak came to an end.

Nico Paz was named Flashscore Man of the Match.
