Mara Sugar Put Unbeaten Record on the Line Against Tusker

Mara Sugar will attempt to preserve their unbeaten start to the FKF Premier League season when they take on Tusker FC in Murang'a, with the Brewers seeking a response after suffering their first defeat of the campaign.

The two sides arrive with different levels of match experience, as Tusker have played only twice in the league while Mara have already completed four fixtures.

Their meeting therefore presents an opportunity for both teams to strengthen their position as the season progresses.

Mara have collected one victory and three draws from their opening four matches.

Although they have not always turned their performances into maximum points, their ability to avoid defeat has provided a solid foundation.

The Millers will now face a Tusker side looking to rediscover the form that earned them three points in their opening league outing.

Tusker began their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Ulinzi Stars, raising hopes of a positive start.

However, their progress was checked in their latest match when Mathare United claimed a 2-1 win over the Brewers.

The defeat will leave Tusker looking to respond quickly, particularly as they attempt to make up for lost time following their involvement in continental competition.

Having played fewer league matches than many of their rivals, the Brewers have less room for further setbacks if they want to establish themselves among the early contenders.

A victory against Mara would offer an immediate opportunity to recover from the loss to Mathare.

Mara, on the other hand, can use the fixture to demonstrate that their unbeaten record is more than a product of a favourable run of results.

Taking points against an established side such as Tusker would strengthen their confidence and provide a useful measure of their progress.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm in Murang'a.
