Arsenal have moved three points clear at the top of the English Premier League after securing a 1–0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Kai Havertz scored the decisive goal as the Gunners recorded their first league win at the stadium in 14 years.
According to Reuters, Havertz found the net in the 16th minute, converting a low cross from Declan Rice after Liverpool were caught attempting to play the ball out from the back. The goal proved enough to secure all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The victory lifted Arsenal to 24 points from nine matches, putting them ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who have 21 points. Manchester City suffered a 2–1 home defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, allowing Arsenal to establish a three-point advantage at the summit.
Liverpool attempted to respond after conceding, with Florian Wirtz hitting the crossbar from a free kick and Alexis Mac Allister heading a promising opportunity over the goal. However, Arsenal maintained their defensive discipline throughout the second half.
According to match reports, Liverpool failed to register a shot on target during the encounter, as Arsenal’s defence successfully contained the home side’s attacking pressure.
The result also ended Arsenal’s 13-match winless run at Anfield in the Premier League. Their previous league victory at the stadium came in September 2012, when they won 2–0.
Liverpool’s second league defeat of the season leaves them fifth in the standings with 15 points, nine behind Arsenal. Brighton sit third with 19 points following their victory over Manchester City.
Arsenal’s latest result strengthens their position in the title race, although the season remains in its early stages. The Gunners will now look to maintain their momentum as they continue their Premier League campaign. Source https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1J5odqx96s/
