Former Football Kenya Federation Vice President McDonald Mariga and National Executive Committee member Dan Shikanda have strongly protested their removal from office, describing the decision as illegal and procedurally unfair.
The two football administrators argue that they were denied an opportunity to participate in the Special General Meeting where their removal was discussed and approved.
Mariga and Shikanda maintain that the process violated their rights as elected officials, insisting that they should have been given an opportunity to attend the meeting and defend themselves against the allegations raised against them.
Their objections have now cast a spotlight on the circumstances surrounding the latest leadership developments at the football governing body.
The former FKF officials believe that any decision to remove elected leaders must follow the federation's constitution and established procedures, including granting those affected a fair hearing before disciplinary action is taken.
Mariga, a former Harambee Stars international and one of Kenya's celebrated football personalities, joined the FKF leadership after years of involvement in the country's football development.
His removal is particularly significant given his profile in Kenyan football and his previous experience playing professional football in Europe.
Shikanda, who also served on the federation's NEC, has equally challenged the circumstances surrounding his ejection, arguing that the process was unfair.
The dispute could potentially open another chapter of controversy within Kenyan football, with questions emerging over governance, accountability and the rights of elected federation officials.
The latest developments also raise concerns about whether the removal process complied with the relevant FKF regulations and constitutional requirements.
As the disagreement unfolds, attention will be on the federation's response and whether Mariga and Shikanda will pursue further action to challenge their removal.
Their position is clear: they believe they were unfairly pushed out without being allowed to present their side of the story.
