Man United 16th, Chelsea 4th: How EPL Table Looks After Sunday Night Results

The Premier League standings shifted on Sunday, October 25, after Liverpool defeated Brighton, Bournemouth stunned Manchester United at Old Trafford, and Newcastle claimed an away victory over Crystal Palace.

Manchester City remain top with 21 points despite Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa. Arsenal are level on points after beating Everton 2-0, leaving the two title rivals separated by goal difference after eight matches.

Brighton remain third with 16 points following their 2-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield. Liverpool climbed to 15 points with the victory, strengthening their push for a Champions League place and reducing the gap to the leading teams.

Chelsea sit on 13 points after losing 2-0 to Tottenham in Saturday’s London derby. Aston Villa have 11 points following their win over Manchester City, while Newcastle also reached 11 points after beating Crystal Palace 2-0.

Brentford and Leeds United have 10 points each after their weekend matches. Hull City moved to 11 points following a 1-1 draw with Brentford, while Everton remain on 10 points after their defeat to Arsenal.

EPL STANDINGS

Manchester United endured another difficult afternoon, losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth. The defeat left United on seven points and increased pressure on manager Michael Carrick as the team struggles to find consistency.

Bournemouth climbed to nine points with their victory, while Fulham also moved to eight points after beating Coventry on Saturday. Tottenham reached eight points following their derby success, and Crystal Palace remain on seven after losing to Newcastle.

At the bottom, Coventry and Nottingham Forest have six points each, while Sunderland remain on four after drawing 0-0 with Leeds. The results leave the relegation battle tight, with several clubs still searching for consistent form.

With Matchweek 8 complete, City and Arsenal are level at the summit, Liverpool have revived their campaign, and Bournemouth have gained valuable ground. Manchester United, meanwhile, must respond quickly to prevent their early-season problems from deepening.
