Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has included several Kenyan Premier League players in a 36-man provisional squad for the national team's upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa.
The selection features players from Gor Mahia, Tusker and Nairobi United, alongside footballers representing clubs abroad, as Kenya prepare for two meetings with Bafana Bafana in November.
Gor Mahia have Byrne Omondi, Frank Odhiambo, Michael Kibwage and Alpha Onyango among the players listed.
Striker Ben Stanley and defender Rooney Onyango, who plays for Norwegian side Sogndal, are also included in the wider selection.
Tusker have goalkeeper Brian Bwire, defender Abud Omar and midfielder Chris Erambo named in the provisional squad. Nairobi United are represented by goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo and forward Mohammed Bajaber.
Other locally based players include Sylvester Owino, Kevin Wangaya and Micah Obiero, while Manzur Okwaro, who plays for Stade de Reims, adds another name to the midfield options.
The squad combines domestic league performers with established internationals and emerging talents, giving McCarthy several options as he prepares for the demanding double-header.
Kenya will travel to Johannesburg for the first leg on Wednesday, November 11, before welcoming South Africa to Nyayo Stadium on Tuesday, November 17.
The matches will be significant for McCarthy, who will face his native country for the first time as Harambee Stars head coach.
Kenya are preparing for the 2027 AFCON, which the country will co-host with Uganda and Tanzania.
The upcoming qualifiers provide an opportunity for the technical bench to assess its available options against familiar continental opposition.
The 36-man list remains provisional, with the final squad expected to be confirmed before the team begins its preparations for the two fixtures.
