A Kenyan female Manchester United supporter has sparked debate on social media after declaring that she is willing to abandon the Red Devils and switch allegiance to Premier League rivals Arsenal.
The woman made the unexpected revelation in a video circulating online, where she outlined what it would take for her to become a Gunners supporter.
“If you buy me an Arsenal jersey and call me Mama County 00, I am shifting from Manchester United to Arsenal,” she said.
The statement caught the attention of the man recording her, who appeared surprised by her willingness to leave the Old Trafford club.
Her remarks came at a difficult time for Manchester United, who had endured a disappointing run of results before securing a Champions League victory over AS Roma on Tuesday, November 3.
Before the Roma encounter, United had gone nine consecutive matches without a win across all competitions, recording six defeats and three draws. The poor run had placed the club's supporters under considerable frustration.
However, the prospect of gaining a new supporter did not appear to excite Arsenal fans. Instead, several Gunners supporters took to the comments section to reject the idea of her switching allegiance.
One user, @comedianmwirigi, simply wrote, “Nobody is switching.”
Another supporter, @stivg, was more direct, stating, “We don't want such fans supporting Arsenal.”
Meanwhile, @macuasworld also dismissed the suggestion, writing, “Don't come to Arsenal.”
Manchester United supporters also joined the discussion, with some defending their loyalty despite the club's struggles.
@waiyego expressed support for the Red Devils, commenting, “Manchester United in good and bad times.”
Another user, @wanjerahh, offered a more critical assessment of the club's situation, writing, “Maturity is realising Manchester United will never be great again.”
United's victory over Roma offered some relief following their difficult spell, although questions remained over whether the result would signal a lasting improvement.
For now, the Kenyan fan's comments have provided fresh talking points among supporters of the two Premier League rivals, with Arsenal fans appearing less than enthusiastic about welcoming her into their fanbase.
