The proposed Arsenal versus Manchester United encounter has generated excitement among Tanzanian supporters, who want their country to host a similarly high-profile football event.
According to journalist Uwezo Ali, President Samia Suluhu Hassan is reportedly in communication with both English clubs over the possibility of arranging the match during the stadium's opening celebrations.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, October 31, Ali suggested that the fixture could bring two of the world's most popular football clubs to Arusha.
However, he clarified that no official announcement had been made and that football fans were still waiting for confirmation.
The Samia Suluhu Hassan Stadium in Arusha is also being developed as one of Tanzania's major venues for the continental tournament and is expected to accommodate more than 30,000 spectators.
Interestingly, Kenya's Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has also suggested that Arsenal and Manchester United could meet in Nairobi around June or July 2027.
For now, Tanzanian supporters will have to wait for official confirmation before celebrating the possibility of watching the two English giants play on their home soil.
