Manchester City secured an important 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig in an entertaining UEFA Champions League clash in Germany after surviving a determined fightback from the hosts.
The match produced plenty of excitement, with both sides showing attacking ambition and creating several scoring opportunities. Leipzig twice recovered from behind, but City's quality in the closing stages proved decisive.
The German side started confidently and immediately put pressure on the visitors. Antonio Nusa tested Gianluigi Donnarumma from distance, while Christoph Baumgartner came close to scoring with a curling effort that narrowly missed the target.
Despite Leipzig's promising start, Manchester City gradually settled into the contest and took the lead through an unfortunate moment for the hosts. Castello Lukeba diverted Nico O'Reilly's cross into his own net, giving the English champions an advantage.
Leipzig responded strongly after the break, with Ridle Baku beating Donnarumma at his near post to make it 1-1.
City quickly restored their lead in the 57th minute when Enzo Fernandez found the back of the net with a header. However, Leipzig refused to give up, and Nusa produced an excellent low finish around the hour mark to bring the score level again.
With the match finely balanced, Erling Haaland stepped forward to make the difference. The Norwegian striker converted Elliot Anderson's low cross in the 78th minute to hand City a crucial 3-2 advantage.
Haaland's goal was another reminder of his impressive record against Leipzig, having now scored 13 goals in nine meetings with the German club.
Despite Leipzig's spirited performance, they could not find another equaliser as Manchester City held on to secure all three points away from home.
