The 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase table is beginning to take shape following the third round of matches, with Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool among the teams setting the early pace in the competition.
According to UEFA’s official fixtures and results published on October 21, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool had collected nine points each from three matches, placing them among the leading teams in the standings. PSG held the advantage on goal difference.
The league phase features 36 clubs competing in a single table, with each team scheduled to play eight matches. Results from the opening rounds are beginning to separate the leading sides from clubs already facing pressure to improve their positions.
Stuttgart also made a strong start, collecting seven points from three matches. Aston Villa, Barcelona, Manchester City, Sporting CP and Arsenal were among the teams occupying the upper positions, although some had played fewer matches.
The third matchday featured several notable results. Liverpool defeated Villarreal 4-3, Manchester City beat AEK Athens 5-1, and Paris Saint-Germain overcame Barcelona 4-2. Napoli also secured a narrow 4-3 victory against Bodø/Glimt, according to UEFA’s published results.
These outcomes influenced the developing standings, highlighting the importance of goal difference and points accumulated during the league phase.
Under UEFA’s competition format, the eight highest-ranked teams at the end of the league phase qualify directly for the round of 16. Teams finishing between ninth and 24th enter the knockout phase play-offs, while clubs placed 25th to 36th are eliminated.
With several matchdays still to come, the current rankings remain provisional. Teams that have played fewer matches could move significantly as the schedule progresses.
UEFA’s official standings and match reports remain the primary sources for tracking each club’s progress. The final positions will only be determined after all eight league-phase matches have been completed in January 2027. Source https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CX4YKL8fs/
