Paris Saint-Germain moved to the top of Ligue 1 after securing a 2-0 victory over Lyon at the Parc des Princes on Monday, October 26, 2026.
The French champions had to work hard to break down Lyon's defence, with both teams failing to score during the first half. PSG dominated possession but struggled to find the opening goal against a determined visiting side.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 72nd minute when substitute Senny Mayulu found the back of the net. Mika Godts provided the assist, helping PSG take control of a match that had remained tightly contested for more than an hour.
Godts then became the scorer himself in the 84th minute, finishing a fast attack to secure all three points for the home side. It was a special moment for the Belgian international, who scored his first goal for PSG after joining the club from Ajax.
The victory moved PSG to 17 points from eight matches, placing them one point ahead of second-placed Rennes. The result also extended their winning streak to eight consecutive matches across all competitions.
However, PSG will need to maintain their consistency as the season progresses. Their next Ligue 1 fixture is against Le Havre on October 30.
Manager Luis Enrique will hope his players continue delivering strong performances as they pursue another French league title and compete in Europe.
