Manchester City Lead Premier League Standings as Tottenham End Winless Run

Manchester City remain top of the Premier League table after Matchweek 7, with Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion occupying the second and third positions, respectively, according to the latest standings reported after the weekend’s fixtures.

The final match of the round saw Tottenham Hotspur defeat Coventry City 3-1 at home on Monday, October 19. According to Reuters, the victory lifted Tottenham from the bottom of the table to 16th place, giving the club six points from seven matches. The result also ended Tottenham’s 148-day wait for a league win.

Manchester City continued their strong start with a 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town, while Arsenal secured a narrow 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest. Brighton recorded one of the round’s biggest victories, beating Crystal Palace 5-0. These results helped maintain the leading clubs’ positions in the standings, according to match reports and league statistics.

Chelsea strengthened their position in the top four with a 2-0 away victory over Everton. Liverpool also earned three points after defeating Brentford 2-1, improving their position in the table.

Elsewhere, Manchester United drew 1-1 with Leeds United at Elland Road. The result left United searching for greater consistency after a difficult opening to the campaign. Bournemouth also recorded a 2-0 win over Sunderland, while Aston Villa edged Newcastle United 1-0.

Tottenham’s victory was particularly significant after a challenging start to the season. Reuters reported that James Maddison opened the scoring before Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies added goals to secure the win. Manager Roberto De Zerbi welcomed the improved performance, expressing satisfaction with the result.

With Matchweek 7 concluded, attention now turns to the next round of fixtures as clubs look to strengthen their positions, close the gap on the leaders or move away from the relegation zone.

The standings reflect the results recorded through October 19, 2026, although clubs may have played different numbers of matches because of scheduling. Source https://www.facebook.com/share/1K5kFeJiVY/
