Bradley Barcola Dismisses Mohamed Salah Comparisons, Says He Is Not Under Pressure

Bradley Barcola has played down comparisons with Mohamed Salah, insisting he is not under pressure to replicate the Egyptian forward's achievements following his move to Liverpool.

The French winger said he was not concerned about the transfer fee paid for his services, arguing that he had no say in determining the amount.

“I wasn’t the one who decided the transfer fee, so that’s not been a problem for me!” Barcola said in an interview with Sky Sports.

The 24-year-old also acknowledged Salah's status at Liverpool, describing the former Reds forward as a club legend whose achievements had earned him enormous respect.

“Mohamed Salah, he’s a legend here. A huge one. He’s done big things here and for that I have an enormous respect for him. But it’s not pressure for me at all. I’m not Mohamed Salah,” he added.

Salah spent nine years at Liverpool, establishing himself as one of the club's greatest players and helping the team win major honours, including the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

During his time at Anfield, the Egyptian became one of Liverpool's most influential attacking players, earning recognition for his goalscoring consistency and contribution to the club's success.

Barcola, meanwhile, faces the challenge of establishing his own identity and making a lasting contribution rather than being judged against Salah's record.

The French international's comments underline his determination to approach the responsibility on his own terms, despite the expectations that often accompany a high-profile transfer.

He maintains that Salah's legacy deserves respect but insists that his focus is on his own footballing journey rather than trying to become the Egyptian's replacement.
