AFC Leopards will renew their rivalry with Shabana FC when the two sides meet in a highly anticipated 2026/27 Football Kenya Federation Premier League Round Three encounter at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, October 25, 2026.

The match, scheduled to kick off at 4:15 pm local time, promises an intriguing contest between two clubs with growing competitive history, passionate supporters and ambitions of establishing themselves among Kenya’s leading football sides.

Ingwe will head into the fixture seeking to maintain their recent dominance over Shabana after registering a convincing 5-1 victory in their last meeting on March 1, 2026. The result was a significant statement by the Leopards, who also secured a 2-1 win when the teams met at Gusii Stadium on October 29, 2025.

However, Shabana have previously demonstrated that they can trouble the former Kenyan champions. The Glamour Boys beat AFC Leopards 2-1 on November 27, 2024, while their meeting on March 16, 2025, ended in a 1-1 draw.

The contrasting results add another layer of interest to Sunday’s encounter, with Shabana keen to respond to their heavy defeat in the previous meeting and Ingwe looking to carry their recent advantage into the new campaign.

The fixture has also become an increasingly compelling contest in Kenyan football, pitting Leopards’ rich history and large support base against Shabana’s growing profile and the strong backing they receive from their supporters.

For both clubs, the encounter offers more than an opportunity to collect three points. It is also a chance to gain bragging rights and build momentum early in the 2026/27 season.

AFC Leopards finished second in the 2025/26 league campaign with 64 points, while Shabana ended the season fifth with 52 points. The 12-point gap reflected Ingwe’s stronger overall campaign, although Shabana’s position among the top sides underlined their ability to compete at that level.

Both teams have made promising starts to the new season, setting the stage for a closely contested encounter at Nyayo. Heading into the fixture, both sides are tied of four points, with Leopards placed fourth and Shabana sixth in the league standings.

The match is one of four fixtures scheduled for Sunday as the third round of the FKF Premier League continues, with 3K taking on Murang’a SEAL at Moi Stadium in Embu at 2:00 pm.
