Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabián Ruiz has expressed confidence in the club's ambition to win a third consecutive UEFA Champions League title, insisting the team is ready to give its best in pursuit of another European triumph.
The Spanish international said PSG would approach the challenge with determination, although he acknowledged that retaining the trophy would not be easy.
“Third UCL in a row? We will try. We want to try. That’s for sure. We will go all in with our best energies,” Ruiz said.
Ruiz also stopped short of claiming that the current PSG squad is stronger than last season's team, but insisted that the players have confidence in their ability to compete for another European crown.
“I’m not saying if we’re better than last season or not, but for sure we feel strong and we go for it,” he added.
PSG are chasing a third consecutive Champions League title after winning the competition in the 2024/25 and 2025/26 campaigns.
Achieving the feat would be a historic milestone, as no club has won three successive Champions League titles in the competition's modern era. Real Madrid previously achieved the feat between 2016 and 2018.
The Parisian side, managed by Luis Enrique, will now face the challenge of defending their crown against Europe's top clubs as they seek to extend their recent dominance.
Ruiz, 30, has been an important figure in PSG's midfield and will be hoping to help the French champions make more history in the competition.
The midfielder's comments reflect the club's determination to remain competitive at the highest level, while recognising the difficulty of winning Europe's biggest club prize for a third straight season.
