Andoni Iraola has his hands full between trying to get Liverpool back on the path to silverware while planning for the next leg of the club's future. A 4-3 midweek win over Villarreal provided the latest sign things are moving in the right direction, though the job's only just beginning.
The Reds don't have another Champions League fixture for a fortnight and turn their attentions back to domestic matters. That starts with a clash against Brighton on Sunday as they looks to unsettle one of the Premier League's in-form sides.
That being said, moves are constantly being made in the background to prepare for the January transfer window. Mirror Football has all the latest out of Anfield as another round of rumours make their way through the mill.
Premier League icon Kyle Walker has backed Trent Alexander-Arnold to make a Premier League comeback in future. However, he doesn't envision the right-back returning to Anfield after the manner of his departure.
Alexander-Arnold, 28, hasn't been the revelation many might have expected at Real Madrid as he continues to jostle for minutes under Jose Mourinho. And after winding down his contract at Anfield to leave many fans embittered, Walker worries the player may not be welcome back at his boyhood outfit.
"Why not?" he told talkSPORT when asked if he would see Alexander-Arnold back in England's top flight. "Can he go back to Liverpool with the way that he left? I'm not too sure.
"Do I see him at another club? He's got to go to one of the big ones. Manchester United [or] Man City [for example]."

If Alexander-Arnold thought he was in the bad books with some Liverpool supporters now, joining United or City would only exacerbate any tensions. The England international continues to battle summer signing Denzel Dumfries for starts at Real but could be convinced to swap teams again if things don't improve soon.
A move to City looks all but impossible amid the club's current situation regarding their Premier League spending breaches. However, United could well have use for someone of his talents on the right side of defence.
Lamine Camara saw a £47.1m deadline day switch to Chelsea collapse(Image: Getty Images)
One battle that's emerging in Liverpool's transfer future could see the Reds lock horns with Xabi Alonso. Fabrizio Romano has reported Iraola's side are "tracking" Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, who came close to joining Chelsea in the summer.
The Blues were reportedly inches from signing the Senegal international before the deal broke down on deadline day. Camara had even reportedly completed a medical to sign for Chelsea before the £47.1million move fell through.
Their loss could be Liverpool's gain, given links between the two parties refuse to go away. However, that could set the stage for a showdown between Alonso and his old side if Chelsea decide to revive a bid.
The transfer was linked to Folarin Balogun's failed move to Everton, with Monaco needing to raise funds through sales at the time. In the end, neither player moved to the Premier League and remained on the French Riviera instead.
To his credit, Camara spoke out last month that he had moved on from the saga and said: "There was a possibility I could leave. It didn't go through at the last minute and that's part of football. I've turned the page and am focusing on the season."
That's precisely the kind of mature head Iraola might fancy if he does dedicate resources to rebuilding his midfield in 2027. And as long as Camara isn't committed to the idea of joining Chelsea, Liverpool could instead swoop in to swipe his signature.
