The 2027 edition will feature 32 national teams divided into eight pools of four, with matches scheduled across host cities in the United States and Canada.
Kenya’s national women’s volleyball team, the Malkia Strikers, have been drawn in Pool B alongside volleyball powerhouses Brazil, Czech Republic and South Korea ahead of the 2027 Women’s Volleyball World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States and Canada.
Kenya secured qualification for the 2027 Women’s Volleyball World Cup after finishing runners-up at the recently concluded African Women’s Volleyball Championship, held in Nairobi. The Malkia Strikers fell to Egypt in the final, settling for silver as the North Africans claimed the continental title. Egypt also secured qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, further underlining their growing dominance in African women’s volleyball.
The World Cup draw places Kenya in a competitive four-team pool, setting up an exciting challenge for the Kenyan Queens as they prepare to take on some of the established names in international volleyball.
For Kenya, the tournament presents another important opportunity to measure their progress against the world's best and further strengthen the country's growing presence on the international volleyball stage.
The Malkia Strikers will be looking to build on their experience in previous global competitions and translate their continental pedigree into competitive performances on the world stage.
