Cristian Romero has called former Tottenham team-mate Micky van de Ven "incredible" and a player who "has everything".
The two centre-backs spent three seasons together at Spurs before Romero's departure to Atletico Madrid this summer.
Spurs won 34 of the 73 games in which Romero and Van de Ven both started (46.6% – D14 L25), while their win rate dropped to 37.5% when at least one of the two players was absent (P80 W30 D15 L35).
They also scored more goals per game (1.8 to 1.6) and conceded fewer (1.4 to 1.6) when both players started, with their most significant moment coming in the 2024-25 Europa League final.
Spurs defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the showpiece to end a 17-year trophy drought, with Van de Ven denying the Red Devils with an acrobatic clearance off the line.
Romero's time at Spurs ended on a sour note as they survived relegation by the skin of their teeth last season, but the Argentine had plenty of praise for his former team-mate.
"At the club level, at Tottenham, I got to share a lot with Micky van de Ven, and I feel that it was impressive," Romero told Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul.

"He is an incredible player, and he has everything.
"I think obviously it will depend on him, because he is young, where and what he wants to do for his career, because he has it all.
"He has speed, he plays the ball, he is fast, he defends well, defends high, plays well with his feet, is technical.
"Truthfully, at club level, I feel he has been a team-mate that understood me very well from day one and who elevated me. I elevated him, and I also have a very good relationship [with him]. He's a very good centre-back."
