Jim Goodwin was delighted to see his Dundee United side come out on top in an absolute humdinger with Aberdeen.
But the Tannadice boss was also perplexed as to why the Tangerines weren't awarded a fourth goal that would have given them breathing room in Tayside.
The Irishman got one over his old team after United triumphed 3-2 against the Dons, with both teams putting on a spectacle despite the treacherous weather conditions caused by Storm Boelo.
They had led twice thanks to goals from Zidane Iqbal and Dylan Tait only to be begged back on both occasions through equalisers from Nesta Guiness-Walker and Connor Ronan.
The hosts did claim all three points 18 minutes from time thanks to a flying header from Zas Sapsford, seven minutes after the Aussie had seen an effort chalked off by VAR after they ruled that Daniel Bennie had interfered by blocking Reds goalkeeper Marius Muller's line of sight.
And Goodwin insists it was very harsh for VAR to recommend to whistler David Dickinson to overturn the goal for an offside.
Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland, he said: "I thought it was a terrific game and both sets of players deserve huge amounts of credit.
"No doubt Stephen Robinson and his players will be disappointed not to have taken anything from the game as I thought they were really good at times.
"I am delighted in the manner that we were able to win the game but I'm disappointed that the third goal was chalked off.

"It was a brilliant pass of play from us and I think it's a little bit harsh (to rule it out) if I'm totally honest, having watched it back.
"It's a subjective one as some referees will give it and some will not. And unfortunately today David Dickinson has ruled it out for offside.
"But credit to the group, they dug deep at times. Aberdeen like to try and get lots of crosses into the box and our two centre halves were outstanding.
"Michael Forbes was playing with a big gash on the side of his face that needed stitches at half time. That's what you need from their leaders, to put their necks on the line because it's worth it at the end of the day.
"The goal that we eventually get to go and win it was brilliant. It was a terrific, all-round performance in really, really difficult conditions."
