After Thursday’s defeat at Bournemouth in the Europa League, Ruben Amorim knows he needs to react immediately and get back to winning ways.
Therefore, ahead of tomorrow night’s Serie A match away against Udinese, the Portuguese coach will once again rely on all his regular starters from minute one, following yet more rotation on the south coast of England.
Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) report this morning that Mario Gila, Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot, Christian Pulisic and Gonçalo Ramos will all return to the starting XI in Udine.
Fortunately, Ramos has recovered from the concerns raised in recent days when he was forced to sit out the Bournemouth game due to a calf strain. The Portuguese centre-forward has recovered from his injury and returned to training with the group yesterday.
He should therefore be back leading the Milan attack tomorrow evening, alongside Pulsic, who will operate behind him. Gila will also return to the defense, having repeatedly demonstrated his importance to the Rossoneri’s defense this early in the season.
There are also significant returns in midfield, where Modric will take over the reins of Milan’s defense alongside Rabiot. Due to Matteo Gabia’s serious injury, Koni De Winter and Stahinja Pavlovic will be forced to work overtime.
On the left, Davide Bartesaghi and the much-criticised Pervis Estupinan are in contention, while it remains to be seen where Diego Moreira will be deployed as he appears to perform less well on the right flank than on the left.
