Everyone at AC Milan is aware that the squad needs further strengthening, including the potential new director Markus Krösche.
Milan were one of the most active clubs in the summer window, breaking their club record to sign Goncalo Ramos before another major outlay on Diego Moreira. However, as Tuttosport (via MilanNews) write, it’s clear to everyone that there are still gaps in the squad.
Before completing the squad, the Rossoneri want to finalise the arrival of their new Head of Football, with Krösche being the man that is in the frame.
Many were convinced that it would be a matter of a few days for Krösche to be announced after he left Eintracht Frankfurt one week ago, but instead it will take more time. There are two reasons for this.
Firstly, the German is still under contract until 2028, and therefore a clause will have to be paid to release him. Secondly, based on rumours coming from Germany, Krösche would like to take a short break after five very intense years at Eintracht.
However, Milan are in a hurry and is aiming to complete his arrival as soon as possible because they have the January transfer window to plan and organise.
The Rossoneri will have three main objectives. It’s been known for some time that a centre-back is wanted, and Gonçalo Inacio of Sporting CP is still at the top of the list. However, other names are also under consideration, such as Luca Reggiani of Borussia Dortmund.
A new addition will also be needed at wing-back, though it remains to be seen on which flank and whether a more natural full-back would be Amorim’s preference. Milan’s final objective in January will be a back-up for Gonçalo Ramos, as Francesco Camarda doesn’t appear to be ready yet.
