‘I Finally Know What It Feels Like to Be a Cowboys Fan’ — Eagles Legend Takes Dig at Dallas’ 30-Plus Years of Misery Amid Philly’s 6-Game Skid

LeSean McCoy has reached the point in Philadelphia’s losing streak where he can empathize with Cowboys fans. Naturally, he managed to make that sound insulting.

After the Eagles dropped their sixth consecutive game, the former Philadelphia running back delivered a bleak assessment of the season. Even while discussing his own team’s problems, McCoy found enough energy to take a swing at Dallas.

LeSean McCoy Compares Eagles’ Losing Streak to Cowboys Frustration

Philadelphia fell 27-10 to Washington on Sunday night, dropping to 2-6 after a game that began with a 10-0 Eagles lead. The Commanders scored the final 27 points, leaving McCoy searching for a familiar comparison.

“It’s tough. It’s tough to be an Eagles fan,”McCoy said on Sunday night’s “Speakeasy” episode.

Then came the part Dallas supporters probably could have done without.

“I finally know what it feels like to be a Cowboys fan for the last 30-something years. I get it.”

McCoy was discussing Philadelphia’s current misery, but the Cowboys’ lengthy championship drought remained available for target practice. Dallas, of course, has not reached a Super Bowl since winning the championship following the 1995 season.

His broader point concerned the unfamiliar experience of watching a team lose repeatedly with little immediate relief in sight.

There was still some divisional pride mixed into the disappointment. McCoy argued that Philadelphia had been carrying the NFC East in recent years, making this season particularly difficult to stomach.

The Eagles’ current results offer little comfort. Sunday’s defeat followed a 38-21 loss to Dallas, meaning their latest two setbacks came against division opponents.

McCoy Predicts Eagles Players Could Start Looking Toward Next Season

McCoy’s concerns extended beyond the losing streak. He predicted that more players could begin prioritizing their health and future availability as the season deteriorates.

“It’s the type of year where everybody’s going to tap out,” he said.

McCoy specifically mentioned Saquon Barkley, imagining the running back deciding he had bigger priorities and needed to preserve himself for next season. He also questioned the incentive for DeVonta Smith to return and predicted that further defeats could wear down the defense.

Philadelphia is already dealing with Jalen Hurts’ absence. McCoy has previouslyquestioned the handling of the quarterback’s health situation, and Hurts’ unavailability has added to the team’s difficulties.

Against Washington, Tanner McKee threw for 212 yards but lost a fumble, threw an interception, and took five sacks. Barkley scored Philadelphia’s only touchdown as the early advantage disappeared.

The Eagles now face the New York Giants before their bye week. A victory would at least interrupt a stretch that has turned every game into another examination of what is going wrong.
