Dunfermline manager Neil Lennon on side's 'will to win'

The Pars manager said that his players refusing to feel disappointed if they have a setback, but instead continuing to play in a bid to turn it around, was a plus point this term.

In midweek, they fell behind to Partick Thistle after a mistake by Dylan Lobban, following a bright start to proceedings.

However, they got a deserved equaliser, and were perhaps unfortunate to end up with one point instead of three.

"We always maintain you're going to make mistakes," Lennon said.

"We always maintain that you could be a goal down after a minute. You’ve just got to keep playing.

"We've all had blunders, we've all had mistakes, and your career's not going to be the perfect game all the time.

"What I'm liking about us is our intensity and our will to win, and the persistence, because they keep going.

"They don't get disappointed, they keep going.

"They keep going right to the end and, even if it's difficult watching it in the stands, where fans maybe get disappointed with the opportunities we're getting, the belief is still there to be relentless, which we have been for the last three or four games.

"For me, that's a real positive point as well."

Additionally, Lennon heaped praise on on-loan Aberdeen full back Lobban, saying he had "no qualms" about him.

The 21-year-old has been an impressive performer in the side so far this term, and was included in the Scotland under-21 squad, in the recent international break.

"He has been magnificent and (there’s been) a huge improvement in him, and a huge improvement in the team when he's playing," Lennon added.

"His reaction to that (Thistle's goal) was superb.

"So, we are defensively very good, and we've got a great goalkeeper as well.

"We just need to finesse a lot of things at the top end of the pitch, whether it be decision-making, final pass or the finish.

"But we're putting ourselves into brilliant positions constantly."
