Amid links between himself and Manchester United, Joaquin Seys has broken his silence, providing an update to supporters ahead of the January transfer window.
United’s interest in Seys became apparent during the summer transfer window but the club never moved to act on that interest, instead focusing on other positions.
The 21-year-old’s performances so far this season have made him an attractive prospect once again, though, with one goal and three assists inside 13 games.
A move to Old Trafford would see him leave Club Brugge for the first time in his senior career, having come through the side’s youth academy, and would undeniably boost Manchester United’s quality from left-back.
Seys’ lack of interest currently could not have been made more clear in his latest interview, however, as he addressed rumours of a possible move away from Club Brugge.
“To be honest, I’m not really thinking about that much yet,” he said, speaking to Voetbal News.
“This is the club I love, so it’s wonderful that I’ve already been able to play so many matches here.
“This is the club of my heart, so I would give anything for them. I am fully focused on Club Brugge right now, and after that, we’ll see what happens.”
Seys’ comments follow his manager’s own comments in the summer transfer window, aiming to establish focus within the squad on the club’s aims.
With the January transfer window looming, it is likely that links between Joaquin Seys and Manchester United will emerge once again, especially considering United’s need of a left-back.
Should the Red Devils act on their interest then, the 21-year-old could become INEOS’ latest attempt at helping manager Michael Carrick towards success.
For now, though, the message from the left-back could not be clearer: his focus is fully on Club Brugge for now.
