Aston Villa are welcoming Manchester City at their home turf this weekend on Saturday at 12.30 pm.

Aston Villa are set to begin the series of challenging fixtures at home by playing host to Manchester City this Saturday noon. It will be the first of such tough months ahead. Villa would still need to be careful as The Citizens are on fire too.

Enzo Maresca’s men have been unbeaten in the Premier League. They even have been the only side which hold a 100 % winning record this season. No wonder that they are leading the table with 21 points. The Lions, on the other hand, are still stuck on the 12th in the standings.

Villa are on their positive trend too following their unbeaten run in all competition since a victory in EFL League Cup against Coventry prior to the international break. Unai Emery’s men picked up another win in the midweek over Viking Stavanger FK in the Champions League. Such helps the team to stay in confidence ahead of this upcoming tough clash.

Unfortunately, The Clarets and Blue are unlikely able to field some of their players who are still injured, including their most notable signing this summer, Johan Manzambi. His current condition after taking a knock in the Newcastle win has put him in doubt to feature in this game, especially as a starter. Hopefully, he could be available to play.

Villa’s head-to-head record against Manchester City has been surprisingly impressive in the last six meetings. Emery’s side has been able to snatch four wins and only lost twice. Their last three points versus Erling Haaland and Co was in the last fixture of Premier League 2025/26 in Etihad stadium. It was supposed to be Pep Guardiola’s farewell game but Villa came to ruin the party with their 2-1 win.
