It would certainly earn both men a lot of money.

Conor McGregor's fighting career may have been handed a lifeline after boxing star Conor Benn called him out for a bout in 2027.

Both Conor's are coming off the back of damaging defeats this year, with McGregor losing after a minute following a knee injury to Max Holloway, while Benn was easily beaten by Ryan Garcia.

With each man at a crossroads, Benn took the opportunity to call for a fight with McGregor, sharing an AI mock-up of a poster promoting a fight between the pair, captioning the post "any day of the week.

McGregor has one fight left on his UFC contract and has vowed to make the walk to the Octagon one last time, while Benn is only a handful of fights into his deal with UFC boss Dana White's ZUFFA Boxing.

While McGregor might be Benn's preferred option, a trilogy contest with old foe Chris Eubank Jr could well be on the cards, with Eddie Hearn - seemingly now on Eubank's side - suggesting a fight makes the most sense for both men.

Hearn and Eubank Jr met earlier this year to clear the air after years of tension, and when Hearn was asked whether he could be in Junior's corner, he replied “Stranger things have happened.

“I will confirm that I had a very pleasant lunch meeting with Mr Eubank. It was nice to clear the air.

“Certainly, me on Team Eubank against Dana White and Conor Benn makes the fight twice as big, and the trilogy will be interesting."
