AUSTIN — Mississippi State football starting running back Fluff Bothwell exited the Oct. 31 game against Texas with an injury.
It occurred after he was tackled on a rush attempt in the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs, who already lost quarterback AJ Swann to an injury earlier in the game, trailed the Longhorns, 24-3, at the time.
Bothwell was down on the ground for a couple minutes but was able to walk off the field with assistance from the MSU training staff. He went straight into the medical tent and then walked to the locker room.
Bothwell has not returned to the game.
Mississippi State has not said what his exact injury is.
Kolin Wilson and Xavier Gayten are listed as the backups to Bothwell on Mississippi State's depth chart.
However, freshman JJ Hill was the running back for Mississippi State on its next offensive possession.
Bothwell had 17 carries for 49 yards before exiting. He also had three catches for 13 yards.
