The New Orleans Saints could be getting their starting left tackle back for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Saturday that the team plans to activate Kelvin Banks Jr. from injured reserve.
Banks suffered a high ankle sprain in the Saints' Week 2 win over the Baltimore Ravens and underwent surgery. He was placed on injured reserve Sept. 23, making the planned activation a quick turnaround after a significant injury.
The second-year tackle was limited in all three practices this week and was questionable on Friday's final injury report. Activating him would put him in position to play against Cleveland, though his game-day availability remains unconfirmed.
New Orleans selected Banks ninth overall in the 2025 NFL draft, and he started all 17 games as a rookie. His potential return is especially timely, with fellow tackle Asim Richards also questionable because of a thumb injury. Getting Banks back would give Tyler Shough a familiar presence on his blind side.
