Commanders' Stefon Diggs loves what he's seen from rookie Antonio Williams

In the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Washington Commanders selected wide receiver Antonio Williams out of college and right now, that is paying dividends as they try to stay in the NFC East playoff race.

Through the first seven games of the season, Williams leads the Commanders in receiving yards with 259, but only has one touchdown. Veteran Stefon Diggs leads Washington in receiving touchdowns with five and was highly complimentary of the Commanders’ rookie, saying he plays like a veteran.

“Just a young kid playing well. I feel like, he plays like he’s been in the league for a couple years and he’s taking advantage of his opportunities,” Diggs said. “Definitely something to keep an eye out for. For us, we kind of saw it all camp and all offseason. I see him in practice all the time, so it’s no surprise to me. So, I’ll just be happy for him when he starts hooping.”

Washington will be looking for both Diggs and Williams to step up in the Commanders’ next game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. The Commanders are 2-4-1, looking for their second straight win after a 17-point victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Meanwhile, the Rams are looking for their third win of the season.
