Amanda Anisimova showed off a swanky new Porsche she purchased and labeled it a “toxic ex”. Just weeks ago, the American former World No. 3 women’s tennis superstar had shared an emotional message about selling off her old car, which also happened to be a Porsche.

In mid-October, Anisimova confirmed that she was doing away with her old Porsche through an Instagram Story, writing:

“RIP to my car, even though you were quite impractical I will still miss you😢😭😭”

On Tuesday, November 3, Anisimova took to her Instagram Stories and shared a picture of a brand new Porsche Taycan parked in her garage. In the bottom right-hand corner of the picture, she superimposed the screenshot of a DM she received after investing in the car, which read:

“Oh Amanda. Amanda Amanda Amanda 🤦‍♂️”

The two-time Major finalist captioned the main picture:

“Like getting back together w a toxic ex”

On the tennis front, Anisimova’s most recent competitive outing came at this year’s US Open. Following her exit from the New York Major, the four-time WTA Tour-level titlist decided to end her season early due to an injury.

Amanda Anisimova suffered a third-round upset at the US Open; a left wrist injury subsequently cut short her 2026 tennis season

Anisimova entered this year’s edition of her home Grand Slam, the US Open, as the No. 10 seed in the women’s singles main draw. She was widely expected to make a deep run at Flushing Meadows, having finished as the runner-up to Aryna Sabalenka last year.

Anisimova got her campaign off to a dominant start, dispatching compatriot Ashlyn Krueger 6-1, 6-3 in the first round. However, things got complicated for the American in the second round, as Lilli Tagger of Austria threatened an upset. Eventually, though, Anisimova came out on top 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.

The 25-year-old’s luck ran out in the third round, with No. 24 seed Anastasia Potapova producing a sensational 6-2, 7-5 victory, as per usopen.org. At one stage during the encounter, Anisimova, clearly frustrated with repeated unforced errors she was making in the match, had to fight back tears. The shocking result led to the American dropping out of the WTA top 10.

Subsequently, Anisimova was set to appear at the WTA 500 Singapore Tennis Open. However, the American withdrew from the tournament due to a left wrist injury and is expected to make her comeback in the 2027 tennis season. Her prolonged WTA Tour-level absence has seen her drop out of the top 20 as well, with the American currently ranked World No. 22.
