Ohio State superstar wide receiver Jeremiah Smith will be making plays in the NFL before long, but his last season with the Buckeyes is in a tough spot.
Smith, the best wideout in college football and a generational talent, is part of a descending Ohio State team that has just lost back-to-back games. After losing quarterback Julian Sayin to injury (possibly for the rest of the year), the team has started a slide that may send it out of the College Football Playoff picture.
Saturday's ugly home loss to Oregon left Smith visibly frustrated during the game, at one point seen yelling toward the Buckeyes sideline as things weren't going well in the third quarter. We're not sure who he was exactly mad at, but seeing your superstar this heated, possibly in the direction of his coaches, is just never a good thing.
Smith is unquestionably the team's leader through the rest of the season, but even he can't ignore how bad it's getting in Columbus. What a tough spot for him to be in.
Ohio State won't have Smith much longer with the NFL calling. They'll have to hope the team can rebound from here, or one of their last memories of an all-time Buckeye will be him yelling in frustration toward the sideline.
