Lizaad Williams starred with the ball as Boland edged the Warriors in a dramatic Super Over finish in Thursday's Pro20 Cup Super 8 clash in Gqeberha.

The two sides finished level on 138 after their respective 20 overs at St George’s Park, before Williams conceded just two runs and claimed two wickets in four balls to put Boland on the brink of victory.

Ferisco Adams then struck the first delivery of Boland’s Super Over for four to complete a remarkable win.

Earlier, Boland captain Glenton Stuurman elected to bat first, with Lehan Botha anchoring the innings with 50 off 47 deliveries, including two sixes.

Blayde Capell contributed 23 off 15 balls, while Gavin Kaplan added 26 as the visitors made a promising start.

Botha held the innings together after Boland slipped to 63-3, before Adams provided some late impetus with an unbeaten 22 off 12 deliveries.

Beuran Hendricks was the pick of the Warriors bowlers, claiming 2-27, while Senuran Muthusamy returned economical figures of 1-17.

Chasing 139, the Warriors lost Jordan Hermann and Sibonelo Makhanya early before Tristan Stubbs and Muthusamy steadied the innings.

Stubbs struck 40 off 40 balls, sharing a 57-run partnership with Muthusamy, who contributed 25.

Andile Mokgakane then struck 19 off just nine deliveries to keep the hosts in contention, but Williams defended seven runs in the final over to force the Super Over.

The paceman dismissed Hermann and Patrick Kruger in the decider, leaving Boland needing just three runs for victory.

Adams settled matters immediately with a boundary, securing Boland’s fourth win of the Super 8 stage.

The result moved Boland into second place on 16 points, level with the Warriors, who dropped to third.
