R Mason Thomas vents frustration over the Chiefs' sack struggles

Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman R Mason Thomas spoke with reporters on Friday. He vented his frustration over the team's sack struggles through seven games this season.

"Yeah, it happens all the time. Of course, you want to get there every snap. That's not reality, though. And especially if they get the ball fast, it's just not humanly possible to get there under two seconds."

The Chiefs enter Week 9 ranked near the bottom of the NFL in sacks, sitting 31st in sack percentage and tied for the league's lowest total with 8 sacks. Thomas earned a reputation as a pass rusher at Oklahoma and was selected in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

"I get frustrated, but you know, growing pains, going through it, making those mistakes and learning from them, and hopefully we can get to it in these next ten games."

Thomas has recorded 6 combined tackles (2 solo, 4 assisted), 1 sack, and 2 passes defended through 7 games this season. He will look to add to those totals this Sunday against the New York Jets at Arrowhead Stadium.
